The tale of Melen, standing tall as one of Turkey's oldest boutique wine artisans, unfolds amidst the ancient landscapes of Thrace, where its venerable association with wine dates back to time immemorial. Nestled upon the gusty slopes of the sacred Ganos Mountain, stretching towards the Marmara Sea, the Melen legacy has been meticulously cultivated over three generations.

In bygone eras, Ganohora, adorned with monasteries and vineyards, held sway as a significant religious hub, marking an age-old tradition of winemaking. Melen Vineyards find their sanctuary in the garden of one such monastery.

Within this unique terroir, where diverse grape varieties coexist in a harmonious symphony, we encounter an array of indigenous kinds that deeply rooted in this land—Papazkarası, Karalahna, Öküzgözü, Kalecik Karası—alongside globally renowned grapes adapted to the terroir such as Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Gamay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc—a vibrant tapestry of our cultural heritage.

As the yearly grape harvest kicks off, beginning in September and lingering until mid-October, the grapes are fastidiously handpicked in the early morning, transported to Melen’s historic winery on the shores of Hoşköy, to undergo a metamorphosis into splendid wines with the precision of an artist; every step is a reverent nod to tradition.
