Our Winery
All the wineries in Hoşköy are located on the sea side. Since the main form of transport in this area used to be by sea, the wines would be put in large barrels and on the beach, lifted aboard ships which would then take them to the Winemakers’ Dock at Karaköy in Istanbul to be distributed to various cities and countries.
Melen Winery is also located on the sea side. The production continues where our grandfather Ahmet Çetintaş began his winemaking adventure in the 1920s. French oak barrels, modern equipment and chrome tanks have now replaced the concrete storage, but the stone walls and roofing have been kept to retain the building’s architectural integrity.
