Our Sense of Production
Every year the winemaker takes the grapes and makes his wine, therefore it follows that someone who has made wine for forty years has forty years of experience. We are one of those lucky companies that have been able to combine our family experience with oenological studies and modern methods.
Having always concentrated on quality, Melen is the first Turkish Boutique Winery to make a single vineyard wine.
The criteria for quality is based on many things, suitable soil, suitable weather, the right type of stock for the soil, the right cultivar and the best care of the vine during the year. With Melen, these conditions are fulfilled. The grapes are harvested at night and taken straight to the winery and because we are working with limited quantities (maximum 250 tons) we are able to control the processes with the finesse of an artist. For us, wine is not just a factory managed product, for us all the work, the effort that has gone into the year culminates in the art, the skill of the winemaker, as he chooses the exact time to pick, to process and to mature, this is the work of the artist, this is Melen
